Course Overview
👋🏼 Welcome to the Med-Surg I Foundations Review! If you have not done so already, please watch the video on the home page which introduces the course and explains how to use it.
This course uses special Canvas features which may be new to you, so please read the following information before you begin.
Purpose
This course is:
- ✅ on-demand resources on basic concepts that you should have learned prior to Med-Surg I
- ✅ quiz questions to identify your strengths and weaknesses in specific topics
- ✅ practice activities and enrichment videos to address gaps in fundamental knowledge
This course is NOT:
- ❌ the same content as your Med-Surg course
- ❌ meant to indicate or predict your success or failure in other courses
Differentiated Learning Paths
From the home page, you may choose from any of the available topics. Each topic has an introduction page - use this page to learn more about the topic and read the student learning outcomes.
After the introduction page, you will be directed to a pre-test. The rest of the module is not available to you until you complete the pre-test. Your score on the pre-test will dictate what resources become available to you in the module. If your score meets or exceeds the minimum required score for proficiency, you will be exempted from the module and may focus your time on a different topic.
If your score on the pre-test does not meet the minimum score for proficiency, you will be directed to additional resources. Use these resources to review and study the content. Then you will be given the opportunity to take a post-test on the topic.
There is no grade associated with this course and no benefit to cheating on the pre-test or post-test. Answer the questions on your own so you can use the questions to assess your level of understanding and identify your strengths and weaknesses.
